Challenge/Build/Grow

To further its mission and NAHB's mission , the National Housing Endowment has created the Challenge/Build/Grow Grant Initiative for NAHB's affiliated state and local associations. Working with organizations within the NAHB federation, the National Housing Endowment can provide up to $5,000 in matching challenge grant funds for programs and projects in NAHB's highest priority areas of Education, Land Use and Labor Shortage/Worker Training.

Through these grants, the National Housing Endowment "challenges" the building industry to help build and grow new partnerships and opportunities at the state and local level. Since the program started in 2001, over $95,000 has been awarded to state and local associations across the country.

Now in its fifth year, the National Housing Endowment's Challenge/Build/Grow program continues to grow. For 2005, the National Housing Endowment Board of Trustees awarded twelve (12) Federation associations a total of $32,500 to assist local programs targeting issues of great importance to the industry including job training, research and educational support. The recipients include:

We will be accepting applications for the 2006 Challenge/ Build/Grow Matching Fund to be awarded at the Spring National Housing Endowment Board of Trustees meeting.

Applications must be filled out by the participating state or local HBA and received at the National Housing Endowment no later than
April 17, 2006.
