2007 East Carolina University/National Housing Endowment Building Communities webcast!
Upper Marlboro , MD, Oct. 25 - The National
Housing Endowment, in partnership with East Carolina University, is
joining with the nation’s leading home building experts to present this year's entry into the
Building Communities webcast seminar series about residential
construction management.
“The
Upside of Downtime: Why Residential Construction is Still A Path to Success,” takes place on Tuesday,
November 13, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. EDT and features Jerry Howard,
Executive Vice President and CEO of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and Dave Seiders, chief economist and
senior staff vice
president. Mark Tipton, a past
president of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), will
serve as moderator.
“Our industry has been in the news a lot recently,” said Gary Garczynski, chairman of the National Housing
Endowment. “this webcast series will look past the headlines and parse the hard data, giving students an honest look at the challenges facing our industry in the short-term and the growth peering just over the horizon.”
This special event marks the second installment of the Building
Communities series, which offers online audiences valuable
information in a variety of ways, including:
Live, moderated, 50-minute sessions with
the nation’s leading industry experts.
Answers to selected questions from audience
members.
Seminar archives with organized content.
Links to industry-related programs and
organizations.
The webcast is available to students and
professors in construction management/science/technology programs
across the country. Participants can register for the webcast online
at
www.RCMSeries.ecu.edu and submit questions that they
would like for Eller to answer. The event will be aired live on
November 13th at 2:00 p.m. EDT, and students and professors will be
able to access the program afterwards through the seminar archive.
The webcast seminar series reflects the
commitment of East Carolina’s Department of Construction Management
to teaching students real-world solutions to real-world construction
problems, while providing continuing education to industry
professionals. By holding the series, East Carolina University and
the National Housing Endowment hope to increase awareness of
residential construction career opportunities among students and to
create a process enabling successful industry professionals to share
their insights into the profession, its current challenges, and what
lies ahead with students.
