National Housing Endowment
Securing the American Dream for Future Generations

Housing Construction Industry Scholarship Building Construction CurriculumThe National Housing Endowment is the philanthropic arm of NAHB. In 1987, NAHB and a visionary group of leaders in the housing industry created the National Housing Endowment as a vehicle for giving back to their industry.

Thanks to the generous contributions of housing leaders, the National Housing Endowment provides a permanent source of funds to address long-term industry concerns at the national level. Today, the National Housing Endowment helps:

  • Support scholarship programs that encourage students to select home building and related fields as their life’s work.
  • Assist colleges and universities in the development of housing-related curricula and activities.
  • Revitalize the building industry’s labor pool and enhancing its professionalism through training and apprenticeship programs, seminars and continuing education.
  • Challenge the building industry to help build and grow new partnerships and opportunities at the state and local level through the Challenge/Build/Grow Grant Initiative for NAHB state and local associations.
  • Set standards for state-of-the-art technology in improving housing construction, performance, safety and affordability.

Through these initiatives, the National Housing Endowment strives to invest in the future of America’s housing industry by helping all Americans share in the dream of safe, decent, and affordable housing.
